Marleen Wessel is writing a dissertation on financial regulatory reform in the department of Constitutional and Administrative Law. Her project is part of the Research Programme Market Regulation (Marktordening), directed by her promotor, Adrienne de Moor-van Vugt.

In May 2009, Marleen received her master's degree in
Dutch law ( cum laude ) with an essay titled:
Ruimte voor duurzame energie. Aanleg van
energie-infrastructuur voor de productie en het transport van
elektriciteit uit hernieuwbare bronnen. Nederlandse aanpak en
regels in de context van Europees klimaatbeleid.

Marleen also holds a master's degree in history (UvA 1984, cum laude ). Her historical research concerned French historiography and theoretical history, in particular the work of the French historians and founders of the Annales -school Lucien Febvre (1878-1956) and Marc Bloch (1886-1944).
