Adnan Hossain is a socio-cultural anthropologist currently employed as a postdoctoral fellow in the ERC-funded GLOBALSPORT project at the University of Amsterdam. He completed a PhD in social anthropology in 2013 from the University of Hull. Research interests concern gender and sexual diversity, masculinities and transgender studies, race/ethnic relations, nationalism and bodies. Fieldwork in Bangladesh was concerned with the intersection of pleasure, power and gender in the production of male bodied feminine identified hijra identities and more recently with sexual nationalism and heterosexual masculinities in postcolonial cricket. Fieldwork in Trinidad and Guyana (February 2015 -October 2015) focused on race relations, masculinities and bodies in West Indies/Caribbean cricket.
