Research interest

Theoretical particle physics at colliders, perturbative Quantum Chromodynamics, the phenomenology of the Standard Model, Higgs physics and beyond the Standard Model searches



I will teach the 2nd year course on electrodynamics and the special theory of relativity. This course discusses Maxwell's equations in various configurations of charges and currents, and in the presence of matter. 

I also teach the Master course Particles and Fields  (a joint course with the Utrecht Theoretical Physics Master program), which deals with (non-abelian) gauge theories, renormalization, spontaneous symmetry breaking and the Higgs mechanism, and the Standard Model.



I head the theory group at Nikhef, the national institute for subatomic physics.
