Profile

Anne Loeber is an associate professor in the Department of Political Science at the University of Amsterdam. Her research explores the relationship between knowledge, public policy and governance, particularly in view of issues on the interface between social, political and technological developments, among them climate change, sustainable development, sustainable agriculture, and medical technological innovation.

She has been researching and writing on public policy, policy evaluation and impact assessment, policy analysis, use of research in policy, citizen participation and institutional innovation, both as an academic and in various consultancy roles for governments and non-governmental organisations.

Loeber holds a Ph.D. in Political Science (University of Amsterdam, 2004), based on a thesis on interactive Technology Assessment and its potential contribution to making the 'sustainable development' concept operational in public policy and business.
