ABOUT

In 2012 I have been appointed associate professor in the Department of Psychology, section Clinical Psychology. Broadly, my research investigates the interactions between human behavior and biological functioning in health and disease. A main focus is on the immune system and immune-regulating neuroendocrine factors, such as glucocorticoids and catecholamines. This research involves experimental and epidemiological studies in both healthy and clinical populations.

In addition to my work in Amsterdam, I have adjunct appointments at the University of Houston (Department of Health and Human Performance, TX, USA) and the University of Heidelberg (Mannheim Institute of Public Health and Preventive Medicine, Germany).

I am Senior Associate Editor of Health Psychology and I have acted as associate editor of Psychological Bulletin (2010-2013) and Brain, Behavior & Immunity (2011-2014).
