Current Activities
Krit Zeegers is a Ph. D. Researcher within the Amsterdam Center for International Law. His research focuses on the application of international human rights norms in international criminal proceedings and possible mechanisms to supervise compliance. In Addition, Krit has taught criminal procedure (strafprocesrecht) in the LL.B. programme and International Human Rights Law, an elective in the LL.M. programme in International and European Law.
Background
Krit obtained his Ba. in liberal arts & sciences from University College Utrecht in 2008 (cum laude), he majored in international law and political science and took a minor in history. Krit spent one semester at the University of Hong Kong, where he focused on international human rights protection and Asian history. After obtaining his bachelor's degree, he moved to the University of Amsterdam to acquire his LL.B in january 2010 (cum laude). He spent one summer in Geneva as an intern with the Unesco liaison office to attend the ECOSOC sessions at the UN Office in Geneva.
In September 2010, Krit obtained his LL.M in Public International Law (cum laude), focusing on international criminal law and international human rights. Krit was a legal intern in the Chambers of the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia and worked as a research assistant for the Amsterdam Center for International Law, before he started his Ph. D. in October 2010.
