PhD Research

Hadassa offers a philosophical analysis of the regulation of non-state armies and dangerous individuals, such as revolutionaries, individuals suspected of (financing) terrorism and other actors at the interface of war and peace. Drawing on political philosophy and ethics, she aims to contribute to the regulation of conflicts with non-state armies. She adapts the Just War Theory to the changing face of war by setting out criteria for treating certain individuals under the principles of war, and answers the question of how to respond to individuals to whom such principles should not apply.
