In 2014 I defended my Ph.D. thesis entitled "Legal Survivals: A Study on the Continuity of Polish Private Law After 1989" at the Centre for the Study of European Contract Law of the University of Amsterdam (supervisor: prof. dr. Martijn W. Hesselink) and I continue to collaborate with the Centre as its External Fellow.

Since 2012 I have been working as a Policy Analyst at the European Parliamentary Research Service in Brussels where my area of specialization covers European private law, including civil procedure and private international law. Prior to that I worked as a lawyer linguist at the Court of Justice of the EU in Luxembourg.

My academic research focuses on socio-legal theory (law and social change), the theory and practice of legal interpretation, with particular reference to adjudication, the nexus between law and ideology and the contemporary significance of the Socialist Legal Tradition. Most of my publications are available on my Academia.edu website and on SSRN.
