PhD project
Naomi Leefmans' research focuses on industrial development and economic growth in Tanzania, inter alia investigating the effects of uncertainty on firm investment and the effects of trade openness on the productivity of manufacturing firms.
Short biography
Naomi Leefmans is a Lecturer in Economics (2006-2011) and finishing her PhD thesis. Naomi holds a Master's degree in Economics from the Free University in Amsterdam, with a specialisation in Development Economics. She worked as a Senior Policy Adviser Economic Affairs at the Africa Department of the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2009), as an International Project Leader and Consultant at Ecorys Netherlands BV (2000-2004) and as a researcher on several international projects at the United Nations Economic Commission for Latin America in Mexico City, at the Institute of Social Studies in The Hague and at the Forum on Debt and Development (1997-2000). Topics she has worked on include international trade, development aid, regional integration, African growth and development.
