Positions

Vincent O'Connell is full Professor of Accounting at the University of Amsterdam. He is also a Visiting Professor at the University of Rennes, France and the Czech University of Life Sciences.

Previously, he held faculty posts at Smurfit Business School (University College Dublin, Ireland), Korea University Business School (Seoul, Korea) and UCC Faculty of Commerce (University College Cork, Ireland).

Research interests

Vincent received his Ph.D. from the London School of Economics & Political Science and holds B.Comm and MBS degrees from University College Cork, Ireland. He is also an associate member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA). Vincent's research interests are in the areas of financial reporting, managerial accounting, corporate governance and the interface between accounting, corporate strategy and marketing. His work has been published in leading academic journals including Accounting, Organizations and Society, Strategic Management Journal, Accounting Horizons, European Accounting Review, Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science, International Journal of Research in Marketing, and the European Management Journal.

Prizes and honours

The Tom Moran Fellowship from UCD Business School in 2011, Visiting Fellowships from Melbourne Business School in 2010 and 2011 and the IBRE research award from Korea University in 2008.
