Dorothea Dechau (1983) works currently as a junior teacher and mentor at the University of Amsterdam within the Bachelor Cultural Anthropology and Development Sociology. Between 2011 and 2012 she worked at the UvA as personal research assistant for Prof.Dr. Ria Reis.
Dorothea studied Interdisciplinary Social Sciences and Cultural Anthropology at the UvA in the bachelor phase. She finished her Research Master in Social Sciences at the UvA in 2014. During her studies she explored the topics: conflict, WWII, remembering, mental health, trauma and the body. For her bachelor thesis as well as her master thesis she conducted research on public and private discourses and memory practices about sexual violence against German women in World War II.
