Research Interests
I’m an animal ecologist with an interdisciplinary background in physics and ornithology, working at the interface of movement ecology and foraging ecology. My research focuses on understanding changes in the distribution and abundance of bird species within complex dynamic environments, in particular the effect global human-induced habitat change on the fitness of individuals and populations.
For more information on my research activities, please visit my personal website http://adriaandokter.com.
Research themes
- Monitoring abundance, composition, development and spatial variation in macrozoobenthos and birds in the Wadden Sea
- Influence of weather on flight altitude selection by migratory birds
