Martine Beijerman is Ph.D. researcher at the department of Constitutional and Administrative law, University of Amsterdam. Her research focuses on NGO involvement in international law-making processes, and aims to rethink the concept of democratic legitimacy.  It is conducted under the supervision of Prof. mr. Jean d'Aspremont and Mr. dr. Aernout Nieuwenhuis. She has been a Sydney Law School visitor scholar at The University of Sydney from March 2010 to March 2011. From September 2009 to March 2010, she did research on the relationship between democracy and new media instructed by Stichting Democratie en Media.  She is a member of Ius Commune Research School. She was selected for LERU Doctoral Summer School 2013. 

Martine Beijerman is  board member of Join for Joy. She cofounded YWN, a network for which she organizes substantive topic meetings for and by female academicians, politicians and entrepreneurs. She is ambassador for Holland Festival Young. She has two years work experience in campaigning and strategic research at BKB, during which she specialized in research policy assignments based on focus groups for Dutch government departments. She gave social networking training at young professionals in Sarajevo. In 2012 , she was involved in teaching 'Legislation practicum', optional subject of the Master Constitutional and Administrative Law at University of Amsterdam.
