Melvyn Hamstra works as an assistant professor in Work and Organizational Psychology at the University of Amsterdam. Between 2009 and 2013 he wrote his dissertation on "Self-Regulation in a Social Environment" at the University of Groningen. His research and interests can be placed at the interface between social/organizational processes and motivational/self-regulation factors. This includes effects of motivational/self-regulation variables on social and organizational behavior, effects of the social/organizational environment on motivation/self-regulation outcomes, and the effects of the interplay between social/organizational factors and motivation/self-regulation factors on beneficial and detrimental outcomes.
