Research Interests

Niels A. Kloosterman is a PhD Student at the University of Amsterdam. His research interests include the brain mechanisms underlying (un)conscious perception and perceptual decision making.

He uses neuroimaging methods such as magneto-encephalography (MEG) and functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) as well as psychophysics to study these topics. 

In his current work he combines a bistable perception phenomenon named "motion-induced blindness" with psychophysics and MEG to study the fine temporal pattern of brain activity surrounding perceptual state transitions.
