Caroline Junge is post-doc in de interdisciplinaire onderzoeksgroep 'early  category formation'. Hier doet ze onderzoek naar hoe baby's leren. Ze is gefascineerd door de vraag hoe baby's leren te leren; hoe ze bijvoorbeeld hun moedertaal leren, en in het bijzonder hoe ze de koppeling leren te maken tussen woord en concept, maar ook hoe ze leren om een onderscheid te maken tussen categorieën. Hiervoor doet ze onderzoek op het babylab (zie www.hoelerenbabies.nl), waarbij ze gebruikt maakt van meerdere methodes, zoals eye-tracking en ERPs.
