Dr Dewi Hamwijk advises and assists the Suriname legislator
Our external fellow Dr Dewi Hamwijk advises and assists the Suriname legislator in the design and implementation of the Secured Transactions Act with the aim of improving the business climate of Suriname.
Dewi performs the consultancy at the request of the Inter-American Development Bank (Compete Caribbean Programme), which seeks to eliminate poverty and inequality, and promotes sustainable economic growth in developing countries in Latin America and the Caribbean.
As part of the assignment, Dewi has the first work sessions with the Competitiveness Unit Suriname in Paramaribo this week. Moreover, Dewi gave a lecture on the 2nd Competitiveness Forum Suriname ('Towards Economic Diversification and Growth, How to Benefit From Change').
