Visiting fellow Maurice Nürnberg

From 1 January until 1 April 2013.

Maurice studied law at the Humboldt-University of Berlin from October 2006 until March 2011 with specialisation on civil law in particularly with regard to legal advice and shaping of law (in German: Schwerpunktbereich: zivilrechtliche Rechtsberatung und Rechtsgestaltung). After his First State examination, he started his doctoral thesis 'The enforcement of consumer rights – a comparison between the legal systems of France, the Netherlands and Germany'.

Amsterdam is his first station abroad. After his stay here he will go to Bordeaux (Institut de Recherche en Droit des Affaires et du Patrimoine) for three months, too. For his research stay in Amsterdam his main focus will lie on different Dutch laws dealing with consumer protection and the Influence of the EU on the Dutch consumer protection law.

His doctoral advisor, RiBGH Prof. Dr. Schmidt-Räntsch, is a judge at the Federal High Court in Germany (BGH). He is a member of the chair of Prof. Dr. Dr. Grundmann.

Next to his dissertation Maurice works for a law firm with the main focus on the energy and infrastructure industry.
