Research

Main fields of interest :

• Serbian and Croatian dialectology (synchronic and diachronic), especially Čakavian.
• Slavic historical linguistics.

Current projects

• Phonological (particularly prosodic) information in Old Croatian texts (14 th - 16 th centuries)

• Semantics, origin and geographic distribution of the Serbian and Croatian conditional in its function of denoting an iterative action in the past. This project was initiated within the framework of the research group of comparative study of Slavic aspect; it draws upon data from ASPAC (Amsterdam Slavic Parallel Aligned Corpus, compiled by Adriaan Barentsen). The project is part of the ACLC research program Comparative Verbal Slavic Aspect (and Related Issues) (Dr.A.A.Barentsen, Dr. R.M.Genis, Dr. J. Kalsbeek).
