Philosophy rated best in the Netherlands
Philosophy at the University of Amsterdam has been rated the best in the Netherlands for the second year running in the newly released QS World University Rankings by Subject 2012.
In the new rankings, which were published Tuesday, 10 September 2012, Philosophy is ranked 46th globally, making it the most lauded in the Netherlands and one of Europe’s best. This year’s Dutch runner-up is Leiden University, which is ranked in the group 51-100.
This is the second time that Philosophy at the UvA has managed to take top honours in the Netherlands. In 2011 it was ranked in 37th place, followed by the University of Groningen in the group 51-100.
Evaluation
QS World University Rankings are compiled based on academic reputation (40%), employer reputation (10%), citations (20%), the ratio of staff to students (20%), the number of international academic staff (5%) and the number international students (5%).
