Humanities 2nd of the Netherlands in THE World University Rankings

The Faculty of Humanities of the UvA is ranked 41st among the top universities by subject of the THE World University Ranking.

Humanities at the UvA has thus moved up: in 2012, only a top 50 (instead of the current top 100) of rankings by subject was published, which did not include the Faculty of Humanties of the UvA.

There are three Dutch universities in the top 100. Humanities at Leiden University is ranked 28th; the University of Groningen 84th.

UvA ranked 83rd

The UvA as a whole has maintained last year’s ranking of 83rd place in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2013-2014. Ranking 67th, Leiden University is the highest ranked Dutch university. 

The rankings were published on the evening of Wednesday, 2 October.

Method

The Times Higher Education ranking is drawn up using 13 different performance indicators. These include teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international orientation.
