New climate control system: fresh air 24/7 and a consistent temperature

Tip: keep the ventilation hatches closed in order to ensure optimal system performance

The Amsterdam Roeterseiland Campus has been equipped with a climate control system that ensures good air quality and a consistent indoor temperature.

The system is currently being fine-tuned in response to complaints from staff who felt the temperature was slightly chilly.

Adjusting the temperature

Staff members can also adjust the temperature in their workspace (approximately two degrees warmer or colder) by means of the white thermostat panels. See the manual below.

Fresh air 24/7

The climate control system continually blows in fresh air and extracts "used" air, ensuring a constant supply of fresh air. The ventilation hatches (large grey doors) throughout the building can be opened. However, this will disrupt the climate control system, especially if outdoor temperatures are relatively warm or cold. The system will start cooling if a large amount of warm air enters the building, and heat up the indoor space when a large amount of cold air is fed into the premises. It is thus recommendable to keep the hatches - which do not need to be opened in order to let in fresh air - closed.
