Alfons Hoekstra appointed as Professor Computational Biomedicine at ITMO
Dr. Alfons Hoekstra (University of Amsterdam, research group SCS) has been appointed as Professor Computational Biomedicine at the national research University Information Technologies, Mechanics and Optics University (ITMO) in Saint Petersburg, Russia.
As of 1 September 2014 Alfons Hoekstra working as part time professor will lead research on the Virtual Physiological Human (VPH), with emphasis on development of computer simulation systems for decision support in complex biomedical applications. His position will further shape and extend the existing collaboration on Master and PhD programs in the Computational Sciences.
