Update: UvA Maagdenhuis
For the moment, there is no intention to evacuate the Maagdenhuis.
Yasha Lange, spokesperson for the UvA: ‘We’ve noticed fruitful discussions taking place and inspirational events being organised. The building is a suitable site for debates, but we are nonetheless concerned about safety and security. This is a concern we will discuss with the students. For instance, we don’t want rooms to be forced open or the building to become too crowded, which could result in a dangerous situation arising. On this we make common cause: the students share the same objective.'
