Faculty of Science students receive UvA-scholarships

Nine science students at Faculty of Science receive this year an Amsterdam Merit Scholarship or an Amsterdam Excellence Scholarship. On Thursday, 9 October, the University of Amsterdam held a special certificate ceremony to honour this year’s recipients. These are full scholarships for tuition and livelihood.

An Amsterdam Excellence Scholarship (AES) is granted to the following Master students:

  • Michael Hirsch – Logic;
  • Cong Tran  - Artifical Intelligence;
  • Lionel Newman  - Brain and Cognitive Sciences;
  • Mehran Mohebbi -  Physics;
  • Ana Vojvodic - Brain and Cognitive Sciences;
  • Adjani Antonela Peralta - Biological Sciences - Ecology and Evolution.

An Amsterdam Merit Scholarship (AMS) is granted to the following Master students:

  • Dinh Hoang Kim - Physics – GRAPPA;
  • Asim Akbani -  Forensic Science en
  • Kemal Sutcu  - Information Studies
  • Mehran Mohebbi -  Physics;
  • Ana Vojvodic - Brain and Cognitive Sciences;
  • Adjani Antonela Peralta - Biological Sciences - Ecology and Evolution.

Brightest students

The University of Amsterdam aims to attract the world’s brightest students to its international classrooms. For that reason, it has established several scholarship programmes specifically designed to offer talented and motivated international students the opportunity to pursue a degree at the UvA.
