UvA-VU research project in Digital Humanities granted
The research programme Amsterdam Data Science was recently awarded an investment from the Amsterdam Academic Alliance (AAA). Now it has been announced that within this programme, University of Amsterdam researchers Rens Bod and Julia Noordegraaf, together with research colleagues at VU University Amsterdam, have landed a project entitled entitled ‘Quality and Perspectives in Deep Data’.
In this Digital Humanities project, Prof. Bod of the Institute for Logic, Language and Computation (ILLC, a joint institute of the Faculty of Science and Faculty of Humanities) and Prof. Noordegraaf (Faculty of Humanities) and their colleagues at VU University Amsterdam will develop a long term perspective on data. Two postdocs will be jointly appointed at the University of Amsterdam and VU University Amsterdam. These postdocs will develop tools to research the long-term changes in cultural expressions (1600-2000), and the identification of factors that affect the quality of textual sources respectively.
