Faculty of Medicine
Each year, approximately 325 first-year students begin their study of medicine at the AMC. The study is characterised by a lot of small-scale, patient-oriented education and consists of two phases that more or less merge into one another. The first, four-year phase consists mainly of thematic teaching. Patient contacts are already frequent during this part of the study, for instance during the nursing assistance internship and junior internship. And in clinical line education the study material from the thematic teaching curriculum is elucidated by patient cases - either on paper or in person. The second, two-year phase consists of training - 'internships' - in- and outside of the AMC.
