Graduate School of Psychology

The Graduate School of Psychology (GSP) hosts an internationally renowned group of researchers and teachers, producing state of the art research and training programmes.

The primary aim of GSP is to facilitate and coordinate the training of students in conducting psychological research in both academic and applied settings. It offers three distinct yet complementary programmes of study in which senior researchers from different areas in psychology collaborate and co-teach students in basic quantitative research, including the neural, cognitive, emotional and social basis of normal and abnormal behavior.

The first programme of the GSP is the one-year Master of Psychology taught in Dutch aiming to train students as scientific practitioners. Successful completion of the program leads to a legally accredited title of Master of Science (MSc).

The second programme offered by GSP is the Research Master's (MSc), a two-year selective programme positively assessed by the Accreditation Organisation of The Netherlands and Flanders (NVAO). The GSP also participates in the Research Master of the Cognitive Science Center Amsterdam (CSCA).

The third programme offered by GSP is the Ph.D training, which is conducted in close collaboration with four national Research Schools in Psychology, each being positively evaluated and accredited by the Royal Netherlands Academy of Sciences (KNAW). Successful completion of this program leads to a Ph.D.
