Obtaining a PhD
Around 2,000 PhD candidates are carrying out doctoral research at the UvA and AMC-UvA. Each year, the university confers around 500 doctoral degrees, two-thirds of which are in the natural sciences and medicine.
The UvA has PhD programmes in all disciplines. Graduates who hold a Master's degree can compete for a doctoral position at the UvA.
