Job description 

Owing to a transfer of tasks within its support staff, AUC is looking for a SIS Local coordinator/Administrative assistant to join its Admissions & Registrar team. 

Tasks will include (but are not limited to): 

  • responsibility within AUC for local application support (lokaal functioneel beheer) for the Student Information System (UvA SIS), and for liaison with the University of Amsterdam's central application support (SIS centraal beheer);
  • responsibility for assessing and advising on implications and impact of AUC processes for SIS, and vice versa;
  • responsibility for installing and updating the AUC curriculum, courses, requirements etc. within SIS;
  • first contact person for AUC staff and students for (technical) issues directly related to using SIS, and taking care of AUC user accounts and authorisations;
  • first contact person for the implementation of new functionalities in SIS, and testing them in AUC context;
  • as a member of the Admissions & Registrar team, tasks will include input/update/retrieval of data in SIS, including enrolment of students in courses, input of grades and credits, and the provision of student record information; general administrative support of student administration procedures; and acting as a contact person for staff and students on student administration issues. 

The SIS Local coordinator/Administrative assistant will report to the team leader of the Admissions & Registrar team. 

Requirements 

Experience required: 

  • experience in (local) application support (functioneel beheer) in a higher education context. Knowledge of SIS or Campus Solutions (PeopleSoft) an advantage, or of a similar student information system;
  • experience with student administration in a university context, and an understanding of educational processes and information needs in higher education;
  • minimum educational level HBO or equivalent.

Knowledge and skills required:

  • well-developed skills with MS Office (Excel, Access, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint);
  • excellent verbal and written communication skills: excellent English and Dutch required;
  • an affinity with complex ICT systems, and issues in the support and use of such systems;
  • well-developed interpersonal and intercultural communication skills;
  • good organisational and time management skills, and the ability to work on a number of different projects at once;
  • ability to work to strict deadline.

Appointment

This position is for 32 hours a week (approximately 50% SIS LFB and 50% student administration), and an immediate start is possible. The appointment is offered for one year in the first instance with the possibility of extension.

Depending on experience, the salary for the position is minimum €2,067 (salary scale 7) or maximum €3,151 (salary scale 8) gross per month based on full time working.
