Ahmet Akgündüz

Ahmet Akgündüz is IMES fellow (keywords: labour migration, Turkey)

Ahmet was born in Denizli, Turkey. He obtained his PhD in social sciences from the University of Amsterdam. From 1993 to 1996, he worked on the projects 'Migration from Turkey to Western Europe (1960-1974)' and 'Migration to and from Turkey (1783-1960)'. He is currently working on two projects: 'The Labour Market, Guest Worker System and Employment of Foreign Workers in the Netherlands, 1955-1974', and 'The Cold War and Immigration - Immigration of BulgarianTurks to Turkey, 1950-1990'.
