Dr. Elaine Fahey

Dr. Elaine Fahey is a Postdoctoral Researcher (Senior Researcher) and Lecturer at the Amsterdam Centre for European Law and Governance and works on the project 'the Architecture of Postnational Rulemaking'.

She completed her Ph.D at Trinity College Dublin, Master of Law (European) (LL.M) at Sidney Sussex College, Cambridge, Bachelor of Law (LL.B) at Trinity College Dublin; Barrister at law (Kings Inns), Attorney-at-law (New York). She was previously a Lecturer in Law, Dublin Institute of Technology, Ireland and a Max Weber Postdoctoral Fellow, European University Institute. She is a winner of the Lyndon Stanford prize and Leonard Coling Scholarship at the University of Cambridge and was a Scholar of Trinity College Dublin. She has held Visiting Fellowships at the Institute for Advanced Legal Studies in London, the Global Governance Programme, Robert Schuman Centre, European University Institute and the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor Law School. She has worked as a Judicial Research Assistant for the Irish judiciary, a stagiaire at the European Court of Justice and as Judicial Extern at the US Federal District Court, Los Angeles.

She has practised as a Barrister in Ireland and was Chairperson of the Irish Society for European Law. She has written two monograph texts on EU Law in Ireland . Her research interests include Global Governance and Law, EU-US Relations and the Area of Freedom, Security and Justice.  In 2013-2014 she is a Visiting Scholar at the European Legal Studies Department, College of Europe, Bruges.
