Nico van Eijk is (0,7) hoogleraar Informatierecht, in het bijzonder het Media- en Telecommunicatierecht, aan de Faculteit der Rechtsgeleerdheid van de Universiteit van Amsterdam, en directeur van het Instituut voor Informatierecht (IViR). Tevens is hij werkzaam als zelfstandig adviseur.

Hij is onder meer voorzitter van de Vereniging voor Media- en Communicatierecht (VMC), lid van de Raad van Toezicht van de Nederlandse Publieke Omroep (NPO), voorzitter van de Overleggroep Betaalde Informatiediensten (SER) en lid van de kenniskring van de CTIVD.  

 

Nico van Eijk is (0,7) Professor of Media and Telecommunications Law and Director of the Institute for Information Law (IViR, Faculty of Law, University of Amsterdam). He also works as an independent legal adviser.

Among other things, he is the Chairman of the Dutch Federation for Media and Communications Law (Vereniging voor Media- en Communicatierecht, VMC), a member of the supervisory board of the Dutch public broadcasting organisation (NPO), chairman of a committee on Paid Electronic Information Services of The Social and Economic Council of the Netherlands (SER) and member of the 'knowledge circle' of the Dutch Review Committee on the Intelligence and Security Services (CTIVD).
