Susanne Baumgartner

Susanne Baumgartner (MA, 2008, cum laude; Ph.D., 2013) is Assistant Professor and researcher in the Amsterdam School of Communication Research, ASCoR, at the University of Amsterdam. From 2003 till 2008 she studied Communication Science, Social Psychology and English Literature at the University of Zurich, Switzerland. Before starting her Ph.D in Amsterdam, she was involved in several research projects at the University of Zurich and at the Annenberg School for Communication, University of Southern California. From October 2012 till August 2013 she worked as a post-doctoral researcher at ASCoR and since September 2013 as an assistant professor. She successfully defended her PhD thesis 'Adolescent sexual risk behavior on the internet ' in May 2013. Her main research focusses on the role of the internet and new media in adolescent development and more specifically on the consequences of media multitasking for adolescent development
