Rosalie Mesker graduated in English language and literature at the University of Amsterdam. She has worked as a teacher, translator and interpreter .

She currently teaches courses in Language Acquisition and English for Academic Purposes. Her research interests include writing skills and intercultural aspects of computer mediated communication.

Together with Manon van der Laaken, she has been participating in an intercultural project for students of English for Academic Purposes at the University of Amsterdam and students in Communication and Linguistics in England, Sweden and the US for the past few years. The second international student conference, 'Communicating Culture', took place in York (UK) in December 2009.
