Social care farming in the Netherlands
Care farming or social farming is an innovative practice that combines agricultural production with health and social services. Care farming initiatives actively involve the agricultural sector in providing care to different client groups. The aim of Jan Hassink's research is to uncover how the care farming sector was able to develop so quickly in the Netherlands. This question has a broader societal impact as these initiatives can contribute significantly to the development of rural areas and farming communities. The challenge is to find out how create value by combining two different sectors.
