Audience participation in the Dutch television process
Ten years ago, the advent of new media generated much optimism about the opportunities for audience participation in the media. However, audiences have no access to mass media production unless media organisations and media professionals will admit them. Skylla Janssen contributes to knowledge about the course of action, professional attitudes and professional identity of television producers in the Dutch television industry when audience participation is part of the television production process.
