Macrophages are cells that play an important role in inflammatory diseases. Marnix Lameijer explores the potential modulation of macrophage activation and macrophage metabolism. The aim is to develop macrophage-targeted nano-immunotherapies, which he investigates in experimental cardiovascular disease models.
