Exploiting differences and similarities between languages in machine translation
Cross-linguistic differences can have a significant influence on the quality of machine translation. Joachim Daiber investigates to which extent the characteristics of the source and target language influence translation quality and whether such characteristics can be utilised to produce more principled translation models for a broader range of language pairs.
