Foreign currency debt and household borrowing
Emerging economies in Europe enjoyed massive capital inflows prior to the finacial crisis, but these came to a sudden stop in 2008. Egle Jakucionyte investigates how countries in emerging Europe coped with foreign currency debt during the ensuing recession, paying special attention to the role played by household borrowing.
