Phosphor is an essential element for agriculture, farm production, industry and organic sythesis. Its industrial source is phosphate rock, a non-renewable resource, which means the sustainable use of phosphorus is important. Tetiana Krachko describes possible solutions for the more sustainable use of phosphorus, including efficient approaches to towards an atom-economical production, smart use, and the recycling of organophosphorus compounds.
