ACE named top incubator in Netherlands
On Friday, 4 May, the magazine Emerce published its list of best e-businesses, the Emerce100. The Amsterdam university incubator ACE has been awarded the top spot in the category Incubators.
In this annual publication, Emerce presents how influential figures in the field of online marketing, IT and e-business assess the performance of service providers in the e-business and marketing sector during the past year.
In its first five years, ACE has already helped over 100 projects develop from startups into succesful businesses. Director Erik Boer: "We are an academic incubator. That means we support researchers and students from all knowledge institutes in Amsterdam when they want to start a business based on their research for the first time." From all the applications they receive, ACE selects twenty ideas a year. The candidates receive intensive guidance during a period of three months as they learn how to translate their technical proposition into a financial one and look for customers and partners.
