Dr C.M. van Praag (b. 1967) has been appointed professor of Entrepreneurship and Organisation at the Faculty of Economics and Econometrcis of the Universiteit van Amsterdam. The chair is part of the Amsterdam School of Economics (ASE) as well of the Amsterdam Business School (ABS). Van Praag has also been appointed director of the Amsterdam Center for Entrepreneurship (ACE), which has been founded with the foundation of this chair. The aim of ACE is to strengthen the entrepreneurial environment of the Netherlands by carrying out and communicating scholarly research, which is relevant for policy, on entrepreneurship. This way a gap is bridged between international scholarly exercise and Dutch business, policy makers and entrepreneurs/student entrepreneurs.

Mirjam van Praag carries out research in the field of entrepreneurship and organisation.
