The Amsterdam Business School is part of the University’s Faculty of Economics and Business and is located in the city center of Amsterdam.
The Accounting section of the Amsterdam Business School is involved in teaching in undergraduate and master level programs, as well as in executive education.
The Amsterdam Business School provides an inspiring and truly international research environment. Accounting, finance, and data science are key pillars of the school. Business school researchers have access to excellent facilities, including all major financial databases, an experimental economics lab, and a behavioral lab. The school has strong connections with the accounting profession, the Big Four audit firms, and the local business community. The accounting section has a clear focus on doing high quality research and fosters diversity in terms of research topics and methods. It hosts an international seminar series and has strong ties with accounting groups from top-level universities around the globe.
The assistant professor in Accounting is expected to contribute to the school’s research and teaching. The teaching load is moderate, and all teaching is in English. Candidates are expected to publish their research in international top journals. The tenure decision will be made in accordance with the Amsterdam Business School tenure track criteria, which include criteria for research output.
Candidates should have a PhD, or expect to complete a PhD in the near future, and should demonstrate the potential for outstanding achievements in research and teaching. Candidates with research interests in all areas of accounting will be considered. However, we are specifically looking for candidates who are able and willing to teach management accounting, auditing, or accounting information systems.

The successful candidate will be offered a six-year tenure track position as assistant professor in Accounting. Upon meeting the tenure track criteria, a permanent contract as associate professor will be offered. Starting date will be 1 September 2017, or such other date as may be mutually agreed. The Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities is applicable.
