Ingmar Reesing (1976) graduated with honors from the Master Art History at the University of Utrecht in 2008, on a thesis on the reuse and dissemination of a late medieval figurine of the Virgin in the Low Countries. In 2009 he completed a MPhil in Art History of the Low Countries in its European Context at the University of Utrecht, with a thesis on late medieval tomb sculpture in the Northern Netherlands. He has worked for the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum and in January 2013, he obtained his current PhD position at the Department of Art History of the University of Amsterdam. The aim of his current research project  is to give insight into the function, making and dissemination of small devotional objects in relation to the private devotional practice in the Low Countries during the 15th and early 16th century.
