Wouter Wagemakers (1982) is a PhD candidate in Architectural History at the Department of Art History of the University of Amsterdam. In his dissertation project 'The Power of Architecture: Architecture and Politics in Sixteenth-Century Verona', he explores the relationship between architecture, politics and social identity by investigating architect Michele Sanmicheli (Verona, 1487/8-1559) and the buildings he designed for his Veronese patrons.
