Conservation and Restoration

Combining knowledge and skill

The conservator requires a combination of academic knowledge and manual skills. The ethical approach is the same with every conservation treatment, but the context and material differ with each case, ranging from the bronze Thinker of Rodin, and wooden furniture in the Royal Palace, to a Mark Rothko painting.

Prof. dr. Ella Hendriks:

"A career in conservation

means a lifelong journey of discovery and learning."
