Lisanne Snelders (1988) volgde de researchmaster Nederlandse Letterkunde aan de Universiteit van Amsterdam en is per september 2012 aangesteld als promovendus aan het Instituut voor Cultuur en Geschiedenis ( ICG ) bij de afdeling Moderne Nederlandse Letterkunde, waar ze werkt aan een proefschrift over de culturele herinnering aan Nederlands-Indië.
Tijdens haar studie was Lisanne (hoofd)redacteur van literatuurwetenschappelijk tijdschrift Vooys . Tegenwoordig is ze in haar vrije tijd actief als redactielid van Perdu, stichting voor poëzie en experiment.

Promotieproject 'The Dynamics of Literary Heritage: The Case of the Dutch East Indies'

Het onderzoek richt zich op de culturele herinnering aan Nederlands-Indië middels literatuur en stelt daarbij drie postkoloniale auteurs met een verschillende nationaliteit en etnische achtergrond centraal: Hella Haasse, Tjalie Robinson en Pramoedya Ananta Toer. In het onderzoek wordt niet alleen gekeken hoe het werk van deze auteurs in de loop van de tijd is gelezen en geframed, maar ook hoe hun auteurschappen zijn geconstrueerd, welke factoren daarbij een rol spelen en wat het effect van die constructies is. Hoe hebben deze auteurs zich gepositioneerd in het culturele veld, hoe zijn ze ontvangen in de pers en in de academie, hoe is hun werk geremedieerd in andere media? Vanuit een discoursanalystisch perspectief kan zo antwoord worden gegeven op de vraag hoe literatuur functioneert in debatten over erfgoed en geschiedenis en welke rol literatuur speelt in de constructie van de steeds veranderende herinnering aan Nederlands-Indië.

Lisanne Snelders (1988) followed the research master Dutch Literature at the University of Amsterdam. In September 2012 she started as a PhD Candidate at the Institute for Culture and History ( ICH ), within the department for Modern Dutch Literature.
As a student Lisanne served as the editor in chief of Vooys, a literary/academic journal on literature. In her free time she is a programmer at Perdu, an Amsterdam based organization for poetry and experiment.

PhD project 'The Dynamics of Literary Heritage. The Case of the Dutch East Indies'

This project researches the cultural memory of the Dutch East Indies in literature. It takes three post-colonial authors from different ethnic and national backgrounds (Hella Haasse, Tjalie Robinson,   Pramadoeya Ananta Toer) as case studies. Besides examining the way in which the work of these authors has been read and framed over time, the project aims to explore the way in which their authorships are being constructed, which factors play a role in these constructions and what their effects are. How do the authors position themselves in the cultural field, how are they identified and received in both the press and the academy and how are their works represented, remediated and adapted in other media? Using a discourse-analytical approach, it aims at identifying the role literature plays in debates on history and heritage and the way in which literature contributes to the construction of the changing memory of the Dutch East Indies.
