Bridging East and West

Modern Greek at the University of Amsterdam is just as unique as the object being studied, namely Greece. The most important aspects are the languages and cultures of Greece and Cyprus, which include Greek society, politics, literature and history. Greek culture is still busy rediscovering itself in changing political constellations, and finds itself balanced between East and West, the Balkans and the rest of Europe. The UvA is the only university in the Netherlands and Belgium offering a Bachelor’s in Modern Greek.
