One Step ahead in Times of Crisis
How can you distinguish yourself from your peers? Networking is now more important than ever before. This will therefore be the focus of the GSSS Career Event, to make sure that you are One Step ahead in Times of Crisis.
There is an economic crisis, newspapers report about cutbacks every day and jobs are disappearing. The labour market is not at its best for graduates. The average time to find a job is currently 8 months and youth unemployment is still growing in Europe. As master’s students you will soon be looking for jobs yourself.
Various workshops will be offered to help you gain insight into your skills, qualities and networking abilities. The Dean of the GSSS Mark Rutgers will open the event, which will be followed by a presentation of the UvA Careers Centre (LAC). You will then be able to register for 2 workshops. You can choose between social media and orientation on the labour market, and between networking and what employers want.
Following the workshops, participants are invited for a networking session with alumni. Drinks and snacks will be served.
